'War vet forced to change bike shop's name after threat from U.S. bike giant Specialized' Next time you’re thinking of buying a speshy, fuck that. Think twice.
Specialized is planning on suing a local bike shop to change it’s name because it’s named after a town in France (Roubaix), which just happens to be the name of their new road bike line.
I was unaware that the names of towns are copyrighted…I guess the state of Colorado should probably take up a lawsuit against the Chevy Colorado too, eh?
Long story short, it comes down to greed and unethical business. We’re not down with it, and neither should you be.
Support your LBS over mega corporations. Always.
Hopefully Specialized smartens up and realizes crushing people’s lives is less important than copyrighting a lame sounding French name.

Yet another reason why I will never, ever own a Specialized bike again.

I will never buy a Specialized bike or accessory. Like their Facebook page!
